IAS Surabhi Gautam: The Inspirational Journey of Clearing UPSC and Conquering Multiple Exams
Surabhi’s life journey is a testament to her exceptional achievements and serves as a beacon of hope for many. Not only did she secure an impressive All India Rank of 50 in the Civil Services Examination, but she also excelled in numerous other competitive exams, including GATE, BARC, ISRO, SAIL, SSC-CGL, and IES, where she earned an extraordinary All India Rank of 1.
Born into a financially disadvantaged family, Surabhi faced numerous hurdles from a young age. Due to financial constraints, she attended a Hindi-medium school until the 12th grade and struggled with frequent health issues that required regular medical attention.
Her challenges continued into college, where her limited proficiency in English posed difficulties. Yet, she quickly proved her academic excellence by topping her university exams in the first semester. She went on to conquer various technical exams, a feat she proudly shared during a TEDx talk.
At the age of 20, Surabhi’s journey took a significant turn when she secured a position at the prestigious BARC, a selection process known for its rigor. By 21, she had achieved the remarkable feat of securing All India Rank 1 in the Indian Engineering Services (IES) examination and began her professional career at 22.
Her relentless pursuit of excellence reached its peak at 25 when she cleared the Civil Services Examination with a remarkable All India Rank of 50. Throughout her journey, Surabhi has held firmly to the belief that there are no shortcuts to success, and that hard work is the true key to achieving one’s goals.
